I was never a going out person.Â
After I moved out in 2022 and started making enough money, my behaviour changed.
I started going out every weekend and midweek too sometimes, to cafes or to some events. And I started to observe how it changed my thought process.
In college, if you would ask me my fav place to go out, I would have replied macdi (McDonald's).Earlier I thought going out to eat food or meet new people was a waste of time and energy. And obviously money.
Now I think the opposite. I get this urge to go out if I haven't stepped out in two weeks.
And I started to observe what going out actually means.I realised that it is exploration.
Everytime I step outside my cozy comfortable home, I explore a part of me.ÂOr explore a part of the city.
Or explore food places.
Or explore how every human has a whole different life going on in their head.ÂI started to see going out as exploring to learn more about what I know about the world. About me.Â
And not to say that I go out with a mindset to "learn" something. No.Â
Sometimes I will go and come back feeling nothing but exhausted.
But I have seen that this "going out" adds randomness to my scheduled life.
I never know what exactly will happen when I step out. Anything and everything can happen. I might eat the best samosa of my life or the worst coffee ever. I could end up waiting 20 mins for an uber or witness the best sunset ever.ÂAnd this randomness is important. This is what makes my life "exciting".
This randomness sometimes creates opportunities I could never see. People I would never meet.
So go out.
It could be shopping or going to a new restaurant you saw a reel on. Or meeting someone from twitter.
But go out. Life is too boring to be spent on a 5 inch display all day.
END.
Do you believe in vampires?
Trick question. If you answered yes, please reconsider your life decisions and pray for everyone around you.
So I came across the reason why the myth of vampires started. Super interesting:
‘vampyri’, the Serbian word for ‘back from the dead’.
Banger idea I have been thinking on for a while:
